OUTLOOK: Vicksburg Cotillion Club celebrates ‘A December to Remember’

The Vicksburg Cotillion Club will hold its annual Christmas Ball on December 9 at the Ardis T. Williams Sr. Auditorium, formerly the Vicksburg Auditorium. The black-tie event will include a lead-out of the 40 club members. This year’s theme for the ball is A December to Remember.

The Vicksburg Cotillion Club was founded in 1987 with the goal of providing young women with skills in etiquette, leadership, and community service. This year, club members sponsored a car wash as part of their community service with proceeds from the fundraiser benefiting a local non-profit organization. Other philanthropy projects included donating snacks for the Salvation Army’s tutoring program and donating canned goods to the community food pantry. Toys for children will be collected at the Christmas Ball. Serving as sponsors for the Vicksburg Cotillion Club are Anna Kate Andrews, Sara Kate King, and Cameron Yocum.

Club Officers:

Addison Evelyn Averett, a senior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Averett. She serves as the President of the club. Her escort will be club sweetheart Walker Armstrong Lambiotte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Lambiotte.

Ryan Hadley Grey, a junior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zachary Grey. She serves as the Vice-President of the club. Her escort will be club sweetheart Damien Monroe Reeves, son of Mr. Perry Reeves and Ms. Jennifer Laird.

Grace Kenlee Windham, a senior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joey Windham. She serves as the Secretary of the club. Her escort will be John Ellis Montgomery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Montgomery.

Laiken Suzanne Leist, a senior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Leist. She serves as the Treasurer of the club. Her escort will be club sweetheart Aiden Ford Dickerson, son of Mr. Will Dickerson and Ms. Cealia Dickerson.

Sawyer Grace McCain, a senior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dusty McCain. She serves as the Sergeant at Arms and Public Relations of the club. Her escort will be Carson Walker Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith.

Christian Josephine Harris, a senior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Harris. She serves as the Chaplain of the club. Her escort will be club sweetheart Caleb John Tucker, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Tucker.

Sarah Elizabeth Johnston, a senior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Johnston. She serves as the Philanthropy Chair of the club. Her escort will be club sweetheart Zachary Allen Cowart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Cowart.

Stella Louise Buckner, a junior at St. Aloysius High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Buckner. She serves as the Co-Philanthropy Chair of the club. Her escort will be Pierson Rawls Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Smith.

About Terri Cowart Frazier

Terri Frazier was born in Cleveland. Shortly afterward, the family moved to Vicksburg. She is a part-time reporter at The Vicksburg Post and is the editor of the Vicksburg Living Magazine, which has been awarded First Place by the Mississippi Press Association. She has also been the recipient of a First Place award in the MPA’s Better Newspaper Contest’s editorial division for the “Best Feature Story.”

Terri graduated from Warren Central High School and Mississippi State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations.

Prior to coming to work at The Post a little more than 10 years ago, she did some freelancing at the Jackson Free Press. But for most of her life, she enjoyed being a full-time stay at home mom.

Terri is a member of the Crawford Street United Methodist Church. She is a lifetime member of the Vicksburg Junior Auxiliary and is a past member of the Sampler Antique Club and Town and Country Garden Club. She is married to Dr. Walter Frazier.

“From staying informed with local governmental issues to hearing the stories of its people, a hometown newspaper is vital to a community. I have felt privileged to be part of a dedicated team at The Post throughout my tenure and hope that with theirs and with local support, I will be able to continue to grow and hone in on my skills as I help share the stories in Vicksburg. When asked what I like most about my job, my answer is always ‘the people.’
