What has long been a tradition for one neighborhood has over the years grown into an eagerly awaited city-wide holiday event.

On Sunday, Dec. 3,  members of Boy Scout Troop 7 spent hours placing thousands of luminaries throughout the streets of Glenwood Circle and Fostoria neighborhoods.

The event, which has been held for decades, is a fundraiser for Troop 7. Troop members, along with parents and volunteers, put the luminaries together, spacing the luminaries along the sidewalks and curbs.

Due to the drought, the Troop members used battery-operated tea lights in the luminaries instead of their traditional wax candles this year.

At dusk, the members of Troop 7 along with homeowners and volunteers began lighting the luminaries, creating a maze of lights throughout the two historic neighborhoods and surrounding streets.
