Gators rack up rare shutout win over Riverside

Wins have been hard to come by for Vicksburg High’s boys’ soccer team in recent years. Shutouts harder still. The Gators got both on Friday night.

Cannon Jackson and Abel Gonzalez each scored a goal, and Vicksburg defeated Riverside 2-0.

It was the Gators’ first shutout in since beating Provine 3-0 on Jan. 12, 2021. They only won one game over the past two seasons, but this was their second victory this year.
