The Gilmer family has adopted 100 angels from The Salvation Army.

The family decided that they wanted to do something this Christmas in memory of Margaret Gilmer.

Margaret’s husband, Leon Gilmer, thought adopting Angel Tree Angels would be a wonderful way to remember Margaret.

“Margaret Gilmer was a wonderful friend to the Salvation Army and any help her family can give us is a huge blessing for us,” said Major Janna Torgerson.

Despite the Gilmers’ efforts and those of other generous Warren County residents, Torgerson said many angels are still available for adoption – all of them senior citizens. “Just imagine adopting your grandparent,” Torgerson said. There will be an adopt, shop and drop event for these angels at the Pemberton Mall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
