The projects are part of the 2024 Mississippi Main Street Revitalization Grant (MMSRG) program offered to lawmakers for consideration for the 2024 legislative session,

The Vicksburg project, if approved, would provide funding for the creation of a Blues Highway Travel Center, recognizing Vicksburg’s role in the iconic Blues Highway along U.S. 61.

The MMSA staff and board of directors have vetted each of these projects and verified that they have met the criteria listed in SB 2359, which created the MMSRG program in the 2023 legislative session.

The 19 projects total $6,972,000 in legislative grant funding and when leveraged with $3,546,740 in local matching funds would produce revitalization projects totaling $10,518,740.
