I-20 wreck claims life of Vicksburg teen

A single-vehicle wreck Friday night on Interstate 20 in Hinds County resulted in the death of a 15-year-old Vicksburg girl, according to information from the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

According to MHP reports, 15-year-old Gracie Wren of Vicksburg was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries she received in the wreck, which occurred about 11:41 p.m. near the 18-mile marker on I-20 in Hinds County.

According to the reports, the wreck occurred when a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 33-year-old Lauren Young was traveling west on Interstate 20 and ran off the roadway and collided with the median. Young and four other minor passengers, all from Vicksburg, were taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson with unknown injuries.

The wreck remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
