Richard Lynn Marsalis passed away at home in Ashland, Mississippi, on Nov. 14, 2023.

He was born on Dec. 27, 1940, to Luther Calvin Marsalis Jr. and Shirley Holifield Marsalis in Vicksburg.

He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for over 30 years and then served as E-911 Coordinator for Warren County for five years.

He was a beloved member of Christ Episcopal Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

Richard is survived by his two sons, Chris Marsalis (Melinda) of Ripley, Mississippi, and Jeff Marsalis of Denver, Colorado.; one daughter, Katy Symmank (Dave) of Mt. Vernon, Washington; one brother, John Calvin Marsalis of Colorado; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 8, at McBride Funeral Home in Ripley.
