After two close losses, St. Aloysius’ boys’ soccer team got to enjoy the taste of victory in a district game.

Corbin Burroughs scored two goals, and keeper Caleb Tucker made nine saves in goal as the Flashes defeated Delta Streets 2-0 on Thursday for their first district win in three tries. They had previously lost to Bayou Academy and Pillow Academy by identical 1-0 scores.

Burroughs scored in the first half off an assist by Eli Shiers, and then early in the second off a feed from J.R. McCain. Tucker and his defenders John Ellis Montgomery, Brody Barnett, Sam Hall and Jaden Wheeldon made it stand up.
