Vicksburg man accused in sex abuse case

A Vicksburg man is being held without bond in the Warren County Jail charged with three counts of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Malcolm Ward, 31, surrendered to investigator Lt. Stacy Rollinson on Dec. 20. Justice Court Judge Randy Lewis declined to set bond for Ward at an initial appearance in Justice Court.

Pace said the arrest is the result of an investigation that identified Ward as a suspect. Investigator Erich Jerschied is the lead investigator in the case.

Pace declined to give further details because the investigation is ongoing.
