Christmas Holiday Travel Period Summary From Mississippi Highway Patrol

The Mississippi Highway Patrol’s Christmas Holiday Travel Observation Period concluded on Monday, Dec. 25, at midnight.

The period began on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 6:00 a.m.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol issued 2,544 citations, made 78 arrests for impaired driving, and investigated 144 crashes resulting in 31 injuries, with one fatal crash and one death. The deadly crash occurred in Covington County.
