Utica man faces litany of charges in Vicksburg after fleeing from officer

A man who fled from authorities last week was taken into custody Monday after the same officer he initially eluded caught back up with him, Vicksburg police said.

Corey Hicks, 32, of Utica, was taken into custody by Vicksburg Police Department Monday after an officer he fled from days before recognized him. 

Hicks was charged with felony eluding, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of cocaine.

He appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Wednesday, where his bond was set at $115,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
