A lucky lottery player in Vicksburg ended 2023 by beating big odds and taking home a big cash prize.

A Vicksburg player won $5,000 on a Cash 4 drawing Dec. 26, according to the Mississippi Lottery website.

The player won with the numbers “0519” and no Fireball option, spending $1 on the lottery ticket.

Cash 4 is among the Mississippi Lottery’s most popular games, with drawings twice daily offering players the chance to win up to $5,000. According to the website, the odds of winning the $5,000 prize with an exact order ticket are 1 in 10,000.

The ticket was sold at Suds N Smokes, 3114 Halls Ferry Road.
