Roblyn Wells Ring

Roblyn Wells Ring was the daughter of Lee Roy Wells and Sadie Hovious Wells of Vicksburg, born in 1946.
She was the sister of Franklin Kirby Wells of Atlanta and Lee Roy Wells Sr. of Tupelo.
She was a 1964 graduate of Cooper High School, where she played flute.
She attended the University of Southern Mississippi graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English.
She would move to Mableton, Georgia, to pursue a teaching career. She would later become a TWA stewardess training in Kansas City and later moved to New York for international flights.
She married Thomas Patrick Ring (Pat) on Aug. 1, 1971, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
She would teach in Poplarville, Miss. while her husband obtained his accounting degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Upon his graduation and job offer with Exxon, she would move with her husband to Houston, Texas. She would have two children, Thomas Patrick Ring II, and Erin C Ring.
Upon her father’s death, she would move back to Vicksburg to take care of her mother until her death.
She worked at Mercy Hospital until her retirement in March 2023, working 37 years in the healthcare system.
She is survived by her daughter, Erin Ring of Vicksburg, as well as her son, Thomas Patrick Ring (Valerie) of Vicksburg and her granddaughter, Gabrielle Grace Ring.
She loved her family above all and loved all her nieces and nephews deeply. She passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Patrick Ring, or “Pat,” as well as her brothers, Lee Roy Wells Jr. of Tupelo, Miss., and Franklin Kirby Wells of Atlanta.
Services will be held at noon, Thursday, Jan. 4 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home at 5000 Indiana Avenue with Father P.J. Curley officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Yokena Cemetery.
