Kevin Dale East, 59, passed away at home Sun., Dec. 31.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Kevin created an enviable legacy of love for his family and friends.

Born June 28, 1964, in Vicksburg, Kevin served as a Gunner’s Mate in the U.S. Navy.

He raised a family in Vicksburg, relocating to Monroe, La. in 2016, employed as general manager at the Tracker Boating Center (Bass Pro).

Kevin was a family man through and through, filling the house with the sounds of Merle and Elvis.

He met his wife, Melanie Long, in 1979 in Vicksburg, marrying in 1989. They had two daughters.

In August 2021, he gained the new title of “papa” with the arrival of his first grandchild.

Kevin’s most cherished moments were with his family, whom he nurtured with the utmost care, loving guidance, and infectious sense of humor.

Kevin is preceded in death by his uncle, William East (Kako).

Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Melanie Long East; parents, Sarah and Larry East Sr.; children, Allison Krabill (Matt), Tori East-Harris (Drew); grandchildren, Jack Wallace Krabill and Baby Krabill; siblings, Larry East II (Kim), Kelly East (Bonny); his uncle, Dennis East (Kay) and his aunts, Nancy Hudson and Sally East.
