Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) is on the lookout for a local woman wanted in connection with a December shooting on Jackson Street.

VPD officials said 43-year-old Octavia Wheatley, of Vicksburg, is wanted for questioning after officers were dispatched to River Region Medical Center Fri., Dec. 29, in response to a shooting and found 44-year-old Robert Wheatley suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm. The shooting, they said, took place at a residence in the 1400 block of Jackson Street. The victim was later transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center for further treatment.

VPD officials said anyone with information about Octavia Wheatley’s whereabouts should call the police department at 601-636-2511.
