The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is seeking the public’s help in apprehending a fugitive deemed “armed and dangerous” after authorities say he attempted to kill a law enforcement officer.

MBI, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office and the Magee Police Department are on the hunt in central Mississippi for 20-year-old suspect Monkenly McNair. McNair is wanted for multiple felonies, including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and felony fleeing.

MBI officials said anyone with any information about McNair’s whereabouts is asked to call Mississippi Crime Stoppers at (601) 355-TIPS (8477) or to report online at www.P3TIPS.com. Officials said anyone with information leading to McNair’s arrest could be eligible for up to a $2,500 reward.

Officials also urged anyone coming into contact with McNair not to approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous.

McNair is a Black male, approximately 6 foot, 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds.
