Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. announced this morning (Thus., Jan. 11) his office will postpone the 2024 State of the City address originally scheduled for this evening.
The State of the City is a prepared public speech typically given once a year in order to inform citizens of major citywide developments, plans, and outlooks for the next 12 months, while also addressing lingering concerns and long term goals.
This year’s address was originally slated for 5:30 p.m. at the Robert M. Walker Building, located at 1415 Walnut Street.
Flaggs’ office did not specify a reason for the postponement, but said a new date for the address will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
