Clear Creek Golf Course closing for a week because of winter weather

Warren County’s golfers will have to wait a while to get a round of winter golf in.

Clear Creek Golf Course announced that it will close Sunday, Jan. 14 and remain closed until Jan. 21 because of the winter weather that is heading for Mississippi next week.

The Clear Creek staff will put tarps on the greens until the cold weather subsides.

A winter storm bringing sleet and freezing rain is forecast to move into the area beginning Sunday night into Monday. Even after the precipitation clears out, sub-freezing temperatures will persist for most of the week.

A low temperature of 10 degrees is forecast for Tuesday night, 22 for Wednesday, and 25 for Thursday. The high temperature for Friday, Jan. 19 is only forecast to be 39 degrees.
