Clear Creek Golf Course will reopen Sunday

Clear Creek Golf Course will reopen a day ahead of schedule.

Warren County’s public golf course in Bovina announced Saturday that it will remove tarps from its greens Sunday morning and reopen for play at 11 a.m.

The course has been closed for the past week because of the winter storm and cold snap that brought subfreezing temperatures to Central Mississippi. The greens were covered to protect them from the weather and the course was originally scheduled to remain closed until Monday. A warming forecast allowed management to move that timetable up, however.

A low temperature of 13 degrees is forecast for Saturday night into Sunday, but it is forecast to warm into the mid-40s by the afternoon and remain above freezing the rest of the week.
