A master sergeant for the 37th Infantry of the U.S. Army, Bill answered the call to serve his country in the Korean War.

Upon graduating with a degree in civil engineering from Michigan State University, he joined the Corps of Engineers.

Throughout his 33-year career with the Corps, the Caldwell family enjoyed living in Oahu, Hawaii, and Wilmington, N.C., before settling in Vicksburg.

Bill could often be found at Vicksburg Country Club playing the game that he loved with family and friends.

In addition to golf, Bill’s greatest joy was spending time with family, especially at Christmas, always getting pictures for his cherished photo albums.

May all of our days be like Paw’s, including golf, exercise, one beer, precious time with family and saying your prayers.

Pallbearers: Bill Caldwell III, David Caldwell, Blake Caldwell, Justin Caldwell, Steven Caldwell Jr., Richie Caldwell, John Halpin Caldwell, and Taylor Newman.

Honorary Pallbearers: Richard Marcus, Dennis East, and Jimmy Kelly.

The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice for their compassionate care.
