The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) says the number of weather-related deaths in the state has climbed to 10 after two additional deaths were reported over the weekend.

MEMA officials said the two deaths were reported in Panola and Sunflower counties. This brings the state’s total death toll to ten since January 14, due to winter weather. Additional deaths have been reported in Chickasaw, Humphreys, Leflore, Rankin, Sharkey, and Washington counties.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation continues to report ice on roadways in north Mississippi due to this week’s winter weather conditions. For more information, go to MDOTtraffic | Powered by MDOT.
