The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) on Sunday added one additional death to the list of those who have died as a result of the recent winter weather across the state.

MEMA officials said the death occurred on Highway 51 in Panola County. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating.

This brings the state’s weather-related death toll to 11 since January 14. Additional deaths have been reported in Chickasaw, Humphreys, Leflore, Rankin, Sharkey, Sunflower, and Washington counties.
