Another big night at the plate helped Vicksburg High’s baseball team put together a bonafide winning streak.

Kealon Bass tripled and drove in three runs, Seven West and Mickell Jones scored two runs apiece, and Vicksburg scored in double digits for the third consecutive game as it defeated Terry 11-6 on Friday.

The Gators (3-4) have won three games in a row and scored 53 runs during their streak.

They overcame a 4-0 deficit on Friday by scoring nine runs in the bottom of the third inning. Braylon Green hit an RBI triple and scored on a single by Tyler Carter to bring in the first two runs, and the next four came across on bases-loaded walks. A sacrifice fly by Bass, and another walk and a hit batter with the bases loaded finished it.

Green finished 2-for-4 with a double, triple, one RBI and one run scored. Carter had two RBIs.

On the mound, Chris Green pitched a complete game for the Gators. He allowed six runs, only two earned, and had 11 strikeouts. He also singled, walked three times, and drove in a run at the plate.

Vicksburg will be back in action Saturday afternoon, when it goes on the road to play Florence. First pitch is at 2 p.m.

Porter’s Chapel 5, Tensas Academy 0
For the first time in two weeks, Porter’s Chapel Academy’s baseball team failed to post a double-digit run total.

It won anyway.

Gavin Pugh went 3-for-4 with one RBI and a run scored, and also pitched six shutout innings as Porter’s Chapel beat Tensas Academy for its seventh win in a row.

Pugh allowed five hits and two walks, and struck out eight batters. He has allowed only one unearned run and has 32 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched this season.

Pugh also hit an RBI single to bring that was part of a three-run rally in the first inning, which staked PCA to a lead it never relinquished.

Taylor Labarre went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. He led off the game with a double and scored on Pugh’s hit. In the fifth inning he singled and scored on a double by John Wyatt Massey, and in the seventh he singled again and scored the Eagles’ final run on an error.

PCA (8-2) will go to Natchez on Monday to face Cathedral — the team that handed the Eagles their last loss on Feb. 15 — and then will host Hillcrest Christian Monday at 6 p.m. in the MAIS District 3-3A opener.

Tallulah Academy 6, Franklin Academy 1
Luke Moberley reached base four times and scored twice, and J.T. McDaniel drove in a pair of runs as Tallulah Academy (6-3) defeated Franklin Academy on Friday.

Logan Hallmen drove in the go-ahead run with a ground out in the fourth inning, and then the Trojans scored three times in the fifth to blow it open. RBI singles by McDaniel and Hayes Hopkins keyed the latter rally.

Moberley walked twice, singled and tripled. He also pitched four innings and allowed one run while striking out eight batters.

McDaniel pitched three scoreless innings to earn a save. He walked two batters, did not allow a hit, and struck out five.

Tallulah will play at Silliman Institute Monday at 6 p.m.

Madison-St. Joe 9, St. Aloysius 5
Charlie Gordon went 3-for-4 and scored three runs, Jennings Kimbrell was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Madison-St. Joseph beat St. Aloysius 9-5 on Friday.

St. Joe (8-1) scored twice in the seventh inning, including an RBI single by Kimbrell, to put the game away.

Carson Smith had a big night at the plate for St. Al (2-5). He was 4-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored. Keller Bradley had a single and scored twice for the Flashes, as well.

St. Al will be back in action Tuesday, when it heads to Yazoo City to play Manchester Academy at 6 p.m.
