Jeffrey H. Jefferson, 77, died in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 3, after a prolonged struggle with prostate cancer.

He was in hospice care at a Pasadena, Calif. facility.

Jeffrey was a product of the Vicksburg public school system and graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge.

After being a longtime resident of the Los Angeles Silverlake neighborhood, Jeffrey relocated to Maywood, Calif. in recent years.

He is predeceased in death by his parents, George L. Jefferson Sr. and Grace H. Jefferson.

Jeffrey is survived by his brother, George Lee Jefferson Jr. of Oceanside, Calif.; his sister, Grace Ellen Stoufer and nephew Ian Stoufer, both of Denver; James E. Jefferson Jr. of Vicksburg; and numerous other cousins.

A Memorial Service at the W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home will be scheduled for a date yet to be determined.
