St. Aloysius’ singles tennis players made Silliman look silly on Wednesday.

The Flashes swept all four singles matches, as well as both boys’ doubles matches, and cruised to a 7-2 victory over Silliman Institute at the Halls Ferry Park courts.

St. Al did not lose a set in its seven victories, and only dropped more than three games in one set. That came in mixed doubles, where Laiken Leist and Michael Moore won 6-2, 7-6.

In the singles matches, Walker Moore won the No. 1 boys point 6-0, 6-0 and Caleb Stewart took the No. 2 spot 6-0, 6-3. Carrie Woods won 6-2, 6-0 in No. 1 girls singles, while Hendrix Eldridge was a 6-3, 6-0 winner in the No. 2 position.

In boys’ doubles, the No. 1 team of Walker Lambiotte and James Powell made short work of their Silliman opponents 6-0, 6-0. Ryan Davidson and Grant Gattles did the same with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 2 doubles.

Silliman won both girls’ doubles matches to avoid the sweep.

The match was the last for St. Al before spring break. It won’t play again until March 20, when it goes on the road to Natchez to face Adams County Christian School.
