Dear editor,
The Vicksburg Main Street program would like to thank all of the homeowners that opened their homes for the O’Christmas Tree Home Tours. Thank you to Joyce Clingan, Nicole Harris, Jackie Loyancano, Chris and Chris Rials, Rose and Malcolm Carson, Amber and Pablo Diaz, Ann and David Dyer, Patty and Rick Stone, Paige and Wayne Pratt, Virginia and Jack Burrell, Denise and Bill Mounger, and Lee and Wilson Carroll.
We would also like to thank Joyce Clingan, Dinah Lazor, the Vicksburg Heritage Guild, Chris Rials, Laura Beth Strickland, and the many volunteers that help make the O’Christmas tree Home Tours a smashing success. Thank you to The Vicksburg Post
and Vicksburg Daily News for their great coverage of the event.
The money raised during the O’Christmas Tree Home Tours will be used for our Downtown Façade Rehabilitation Grant Program. This grant is intended to enhance the character of our downtown area by improving the primary facades of the buildings within the Main Street Taxing District. This grant allows business and property owners to make a significant impact to the aesthetic and character of downtown Vicksburg by allowing them to make improvements such as awning installations, painting, and more.
Any building owner in our downtown taxing district is available to apply for the Downtown Façade Rehabilitation Grant Program. The grant pays one-third of the cost of improvements up to the amount of $1,000. In 2023, six facade grants were
approved by the Vicksburg Main Street Board of Directors and the City of Vicksburg.
For those interested in applying for this grant, please contact the Main Street office or you can download a copy of the application on our web- site www.vicksburgmainstreet.com.
