Warren Central’s Tiana Moore, a seventh-grader at the Academy of Innovation, also reached the North State meet in the 181-pound weight class but did not advance to state.

Wallace also won the Region 2-6A championship in February. Her victory at North State clinched her second consecutive trip to the Class 6A state meet. She finished fourth in the 242-pound weight class last year, when she lifted a total of 780 pounds at the state meet.

The MHSAA powerlifting state championships are April 5 at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.
