Voting is now open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are softball players Madison Pant (Warren Central) and Trinity McGloster (Vicksburg High); and baseball players Keller Bradley (St. Aloysius) and Gage Palmer (Tallulah Academy). Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Madison Pant, a sophomore pitcher with Warren Central’s softball team, allowed a one unearned run and had eight strikeouts in a total of seven innings in a 5-4 win vs. Loyd Star and a 5-0 win over West Marion at the Brookhaven tournament on March 16. She also went 3-for-3 with one RBI at the plate against West Marion.

Gage Palmer, a senior shortstop and catcher with Tallulah Academy’s baseball team, hit two home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Porter’s Chapel Academy on March 11. Palmer was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, and hit a two-run homer in a 12-10 Tallulah win in game one. He hit a grand slam in an 11-10 victory in game two.

Keller Bradley, a freshman outfielder with St. Aloysius’ baseball team, went 7-for-8 with four RBIs and five runs scored in two games last week. Bradley was 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs in a 12-7 win vs. Prairie View Academy on March 11. The next day he went 3-for-3, scored three runs, and allowed one unearned run in two innings pitched in a 9-8 victory against Vicksburg High.

Trinity McGloster, a junior shortstop with Vicksburg High’s softball team, hit a grand slam and a double, and drove in five runs in a 15-10 loss to Pearl on March 7. For the season she is batting .391 with five doubles, one home run, six RBIs and nine runs scored in nine games.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then be featured in our Friday print edition.
