Doubles did the job for Warren Central’s tennis team on Tuesday.
The Vikings lost both singles matches, but swept the doubles points to beat Florence 5-2 on the Halls Ferry Park courts.
The Vikings did not lose a set in the doubles victories. Luke Bond and Charles Harris started things off with a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 1 boys doubles, and the Esparza brothers — Duke and Charlie — teamed up for a 6-1, 6-0 romp in the No. 2 position.
In girls doubles, Ellie Tennison and Avery Hern defeated Maggie Butler and Anna Kate Dudley 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 1 slot. At No. 2, Amelia King and Laura Bailey beat Savannah Tucker and Kenzei Greer 6-1, 6-2.
In mixed doubles, Sam Harris and Lilli Feibelman rolled 6-0, 6-0 over Cole Mcquaid and Skylar Senger.
Warren Central will go on the road for its next match, Thursday at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew’s. It will face Vicksburg High on March 26 at 4 p.m. at Halls Ferry Park.
