Mrs. R.B. Holloman was critically ill in Itta Bena. • The will of the late Leon Baer was filed for probate. • Pola Negri and Antonio Moreno were seen in “The Spanish Dancer” at the Walnut Theater.

90 Years Ago: 1934
Patrick J. Morrison, a former resident, died. • Reva Kline of Clarksdale and Herman Marcus were married. • Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Garrett left for Canto to visit relatives.

Lt. and Mrs. Julius Curran of Baton Rouge were visiting here. • Pvt. Reginald Kahn was here from Camp Blanding, Fla. visiting family. • Mr. and Mrs. William Ring announced the birth of a son, Charles Jr.

Services were held for H.R. Andress Sr. • David Hebron died. • Services were held for William Fussell, a Tallulah resident. • Mrs. A.L. Wright died.

60 Years Ago: 1964
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ford Sr. and their granddaughter were visiting New Orleans. • Bob Malone was celebrating his 82nd birthday. • Services were held for Henry Barnard, a lifelong resident of Anguilla. • Earl McBroom died.

50 Years Ago: 1974
Mrs. T.E. Peter hosted the Floral Garden Club. • Charles R. Gerardy retired from his job as the plant engineer at the Vicksburg Gulf Oil Company’s plant. • Montez Gore was conducting physical fitness classes for ladies in the Council 9 School Gym. • Mr. and Mrs. Gerald E. Malone announced the birth of their daughter, Jennifer.

40 Years Ago: 1984
Allison Thorpe, 5, and Scott Benson, 6, fished while they waited on the Mississippi Queen to depart the Waterfront. • Robert E. Ivy received the Justin Potter Medical Scholarship at Vanderbilt. • Carl Edward Harris was selected as a President’s Scholar at Hinds Junior College.

30 Years Ago: 1994
Irene Hestand died. • A public-private venture promised to bring 150 jobs to Tallulah and Madison Parish with the building of a juvenile detention center.

20 Years Ago: 2004
The community school plan had received tentative approval from the U.S. Justice Department per Superintendent Price.

10 Years Ago: 2014
Parts of Jett and Tingleville precincts moved due to redistricting. • Hinds Community College graduated its 100th GED recipient.
