2024 All-County Basketball: The Vicksburg Post’s All-County boys’ basketball team

Kameryn Bailey/Vicksburg, Sr. — Excellent inside player averaged a double-double, with 14.5 points and 12.8 rebounds per game
Roosevelt Harris Jr./Warren Central, Jr. — Excellent guard scored 10.6 points per game, to go along with 5.6 assists and 3.7 steals
Tyler Henderson/Vicksburg, Sr. — Versatile guard averaged 12.9 points and 7.3 rebounds for the MHSAA Region 2-6A regular-season champs
Michael Johnson/Vicksburg, So. — Gators’ guard averaged 10.7 points per game to help the Gators reach the second round of the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs
Ty Mack/Porter’s Chapel, Sr. — MAIS all-star game MVP averaged 20.2 points per game ... also averaged 8.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists
Anthony McCloud/St. Aloysius, So. — First-team All-MAIS District 4-5A selection averaged 15 points and 5.7 rebounds per game
Garrett Orgas/Warren Central, Sr. — Averaged close to a double-double, with 14.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game ... also had 3.1 blocks per game
Korey Sims/St. Aloysius, Sr. — First-team All-MAIS District 4-5A player had 8.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game ... helped St. Al improve from three wins to a 15-13 record
Noah Porter/Porter’s Chapel, Sr. — Eagles’ point guard averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game
Gaylon Turner/Warren Central, Sr. — Warren County’s leading scorer averaged 23.4 points per game ... also averaged 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.1 steals
Jaylon Winters/Warren Central, Jr. — Good all-around player averaged 10.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.2 steals per game
At the end of each high school season, The Vicksburg Post selects the top local athletes in a number of sports for its All-County teams.
Twelve players were selected for the 2023 All-County boys’ basketball team, led by Player of the Year Davian Williams of Vicksburg High.
Williams, a senior point guard, averaged 21.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 5.0 assists for Vicksburg High. He helped the Gators win the MHSAA Region 2-6A regular-season championship and reach the second round of the Class 6A state tournament.
Vicksburg High boys’ coach Kelvin Carter was The Post’s Coach of the Year for the second season in a row. Carter led the Gators to a 22-7 record against one of the most difficult schedules in Class 6A. Thirteen of their 29 games were against teams that reached at least the state semifinals in their respective classifications.
The other All-County players represented their schools — Vicksburg, Warren Central, St. Aloysius and Porter’s Chapel Academy — well. Congratulations to all!
