No one was injured in a fire that broke out in a vacant home Friday morning in Vicksburg.

Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said the home, located at 2005 Military Avenue, was not occupied and did not have utilities connected to it when it caught fire just after 10 a.m.

“It was a total loss, but no one was injured,” Stamps said. “We can’t rule out that someone was staying there, ya know? But the house was empty. No one was living in it, and there was no power running to it.”
