The Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) made quick work a stolen vehicle reportedly taken from WaterView Casino Tuesday night, returning it to its owner within minutes of the theft.

According to VPD, officers responded to the casino at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday, where the vehicle’s owner reported losing the key fob. VPD said the fob was apparently found by the suspect, who used it to open the 2016 Mazda sedan.

Only four minutes later at 11:52 p.m., officers located the stolen vehicle abandoned on U.S. Hwy. 61 South and it was returned to its owner.

An arrest in the case has not yet been made.
