Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. announced Friday that mayoral secretary Jacqueline Walker will be stepping down from her position effective June 30, and has announced a newly appointed chief of staff and administrative assistant.

“It is with mixed emotions that I announce the retirement of Mrs. Jacqueline Walker,” Flaggs said. “Mrs. Walker has served as secretary for the office of the mayor since April 2011. Her contributions have been invaluable to our team and the community we serve. We extend our deepest gratitude for her years of service and wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.”

Flaggs also announced Kristen Harris will be appointed to chief of staff for the mayor’s office, effective in May, while Cynthia Skinner-Hobson will be appointed administrative assistant.
