The Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) will hold a town hall meeting next week in hopes of gaining insight into the problems and concerns facing the community, VPD officials said this week.

The meeting is scheduled to take place Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Robert M. Walker Building, located at 1415 Walnut Street.

“The 2024 Town Hall Meeting will bring community members and local government together to discuss community concerns,” VPD said in a post to social media announcing the event. “The Chief of Police, commanding officers from VPD, and other City officials, will be in attendance.”

VPD said the event is meant to give Vicksburg residents a safe space in which to voice concerns, discuss issues, and hear feedback directly from city leadership.

“This is the time and place where persons, as members of the community, can participate in making this community/police partnership work. The public is encouraged to attend, and bring their questions, suggestions, and neighbors.”
