Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) officers working an unrelated matter ended up instead making two drug-related arrests Friday.

“Davonte Gary, 27, and Kevin Woodson, 20, both of Vicksburg, were arrested Friday, April 19, 2024 at Eastview Apartments, 1900 Baldwin Ferry Road, after officers who were in the area on an unrelated matter noticed what appeared to be illegal narcotics,” VPD said in a statement. “A bag containing 5.7 grams of powder cocaine, prescription hydrocodone and alprazolam pills, and $470.00 in cash were recovered.”

Gary and Woodson appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Friday before Judge Penny Lawson. Both men were charged with possession of cocaine. Each man received a $25,000 bond and was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
