OXFORD — Ole Miss made getting a win over North Alabama look like child’s play.

Luke Hill hit a three-run home run in the third inning, Andrew Fischer added a two-run shot in the fourth, and the Rebels beat North Alabama 9-4 on Tuesday in its annual baseball Kids Day game at Swayze Field.

A sellout crowd of 12,996, most of them school children, watched the Rebels win the midweek day game.

Hill’s home run followed RBI singles by Will Furniss and Jackson Ross, and gave Ole Miss a 5-0 lead.

North Alabama got a run back in the top of the fourth inning on a solo homer by Andrew Knight, and then Fischer’s two-run home run put the Rebels in front 7-1. Ross added a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning as well.

Fischer finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. He homered, singled and walked twice. Ross had two RBIs, while Hill drove in three runs and scored two.

Starting pitcher Grayson Saunier (4-3) went four innings and allowed one run on four hits and a walk. He had three strikeouts and was credited with the win.

Saunier and five relievers combined for 14 strikeouts, and only walked two batters.

Ole Miss (22-18) has won back-to-back games for only the second time since mid-March. It’ll begin a three-game Southeastern Conference series against Alabama on Thursday at 6:30 p,m. The opener will be televised on ESPNU.
