The Visit Vicksburg organization is encouraging people to celebrate Earth Day all week this year through a community cleanup effort scheduled for Friday.

Ashley Gatian, director of sales and marketing for Visit Vicksburg, said the cleanup will begin Friday morning.

“We’ll meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Vicksburg Convention Center, located at 1600 Mulberry Street in downtown Vicksburg, to hand out assignments and supplies,” Gatian said. “Individuals, families, businesses, and groups of all sizes and types are welcome to join in the fun.”
