A Louisiana resident wanted in Utah is now awaiting extradition after being arrested in Vicksburg.

According to information from Vicksburg Police Department (VPD), 46-year-old Jerry Pettis, of Prairieville, La., was taken into custody Tuesday after officers responded to a possible auto burglary in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard.

“Pettis was found to have warrants from the state of Utah for possession of a firearm by a restricted person,” VPD said in a statement. “Pettis waived extradition in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, and is awaiting transport back to Utah.”
