Fight at restaurant leaves Vicksburg man jailed for narcotics possession

At fight over the weekend at a Vicksburg restaurant ended with a local man in jail facing narcotics charges.

Officials with Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) said 40-year-old Jamie Woods, of Vicksburg, was arrested Sunday night after a fight broke out at El Sombrero Restaurant on Cypress Center Drive.

“Officers were dispatched there for a fight call,” VPD said in a statement. “Woods was in possession of methamphetamine, powder cocaine, and crack cocaine.”

Woods appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday in front of Judge Allen Derivaux facing charges of possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine. He received a $20,000 bond and was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
