St. Al’s Megan Theriot is The Post’s Athlete of the Week

Megan Theriot won a silver and a bronze medal at the MAIS Overall state track meet, and then added a gold as The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week.

Theriot, a freshman with St. Aloysius’ girls’ track and field team, received 932 of the 1,394 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to win the final award for the 2023-24 athletic year.

Warren Central sprinter Adria Burrell finished second, with 385 votes. Vicksburg High track athlete Koury Vample came in third place and Porter’s Chapel Academy’s Jae’la Smith was fourth.

Theriot, a sprinter, competed in five events at the MAIS Class 5A state track and field meet on May 4. She finished second in the 400 meters, third in the 200 meters, and fourth in the 100 meters.

Theriot had a time of 1:01.77 in the 400 meters and 26.90 in the 200. She also competed in the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays.
