Suspect in Caffe Paradiso burglary arrested

A suspect in the weekend burglary of a Vicksburg cafe has been arrested and made his initial court appearance Thursday.

According to information from the Vicksburg Police Department (VPD), Dwayne Parson was taken into custody after VPD officers say he was caught on video burglarizing Caffe Paradiso on Halls Ferry Road Sunday. 

“At around 6:47 a.m., officers responded to a call in reference to a business burglary,” VPD said. “A window had been shattered and an iPad was taken. The suspect, Dwayne Parson, was caught on video, and officers identified him from previous interactions they had with him. Parson was arrested on Thursday, May 9, 2024.”

Parson appeared before Judge Allen Derivaux in Vicksburg Municipal Court on a charge of commercial burglary. He was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury on a $150,000 bond.
