The Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) issued a statement Friday afternoon concerning the arrest of a woman hours earlier outside the Vicksburg Convention Center, where Warren Central High School is preparing to hold graduation ceremonies tonight at 6 p.m.

“Earlier today, Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department along with School Resource Officers, arrested an individual that caused a disturbance during Warren Central High School’s graduation practice at the Vicksburg Convention Center,” VPD officials said. “The situation has been handled and there is no threat to the graduation festivities or community.”

Although VPD has not yet said what charges – if any – the unnamed woman faces, reports from people at the convention center said officials began advising those inside to move to closed off rooms for fear of the involvement of a firearm in the disturbance.
