Warren Central baseball player Conner Watkins has been selected to play in the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Game on May 28 at 6 p.m. at William Carey University in Hattiesburg.

Watkins, a pitcher and shortstop is batting .345 this season, with 24 RBIs and 21 runs scored this season. On the mound, he has a 5-4 record with a 1.96 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 60 2/3 innings.

Warren Central will play George County in the MHSAA Class 6A championship series next week at Trustmark Park in Pearl. Game 1 is Wednesday, May 22; Game 2 is Friday, May 24; and if a Game 3 is needed it’ll be played Saturday, May 25. The first two games will both begin at 4 p.m. The time for a potential Game 3 has not been announced.
