Vicksburg Forest Products (VFP) personnel were recently treated to a safety/production lunch celebrating a great first quarter for the mill, company officials said.

During this time, winners were announced for the annual Safety Slogan contest.  There were a lot of great entries, however, only three could win, VFP officials added.

The first-place winner was Reggie Harris; second place went to William Smith; and third place went to Angie Ester.

The winning slogan was “Safety is a Full-Time Job, Don’t Make it Part-Time.”

All three winners won awards, with the winner also receiving a plaque.

A duplicate plaque will be hung on the “Wall of Fame” in the administration building and a banner with the winning slogan will be hung at the entrance to the mill as a reminder for all personnel to work safely.

VFP officials said they appreciate everyone’s hard work in the quality production of pine lumber and on-the-job safety.
