Freida Bolton Cook, 94 of Utica, passed away Monday, May 6.

She was born May 4, 1930. She was a graduate of Utica High School and attended Hinds Junior College. She owned Winnies’ women’s retail shops in Jackson, Brandon and Brookhaven.

She found joy in her work and was a pillar of strength for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her sister, Gloria Rester; brother, Derald Bolton; and her children, Rhonda Shotts, Roxanne Boblick, Phillip Shotts (Betsy) and Norman Shotts. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the family cemetery in Utica, Saturday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. The service will be officiated by Brother Brad Hartzog of the Utica Christian Church.
