Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) has made an arrest in the shooting that took the life of a Vicksburg man last month on Locust Street.

VPD said 58-year-old Bernard Brown was taken into custody Thursday for the Tuesday, May 28, shooting death of 45-year-old Shandrick Montgomery.

VPD officials said officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Locust Street just after 11 p.m. for a reported shooting, where they found Montgomery “in the street with a gunshot wound to his chest.”
