Ann Duncan Vessell

Ann Duncan Vessell passed away painlessly Sunday, June 9, at River Region Medical Center, after a bout with cancer.
Ann was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as deacon, member of Faith and Practice Sunday School Class, Wednesday Bible Study Group and Church Circle.
She also belonged to Green Hills Garden Club, Antique Club and was a former member of the Junior Auxiliary.  She exercised regularly and participated in programs at the YMCA.
She was also a tennis player and met with a group of lady players each week at the country club for lunch.  They included Beth Norman, Betty Kamman, Margaret Hicks, Norma Habeeb, Shirley Gussio, Beverly Mihalyka, Sandra Shingler, Mary Chaney and Nancy Bonner.
Ann loved God and all her acquaintances and had a special place in her heart for her four grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Orlando Duncan and Velma Smith Duncan, and her brother, Robert Edward “Bob” Duncan and his wife Jessie, all of Vicksburg.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Dr. Jimmy Vessell; three sons, James Robert “Robby” Vessell of Dallas,  Richard Duncan “Rick” Vessell and his wife Jill of Vicksburg and Randolph Fredrick “Randy” Vessell and his wife Chan of Golden, Colo.; grandchildren, Kori Vessell Drew and her husband Dan, Kaleb Vessell, Lora Vessell and Lula Vessell; brother, Lytel Duncan and his wife Carol, along with their children and grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janie Williams of Vicksburg, along with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at First Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Tim Brown.
Visitation will be held from from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ken Hicks, Sid Shaw, Coen Perrott, and nephews, Chad Duncan, Waverley Duncan and Chris Williams.
Memorials may be made to River City Rescue Mission or First Presbyterian Church.
