Sandlot Legends move up, win tournament title

The Sandlot Legends moved up and got over on their competition in a recent tournament.

The Legends, a 10U AAA team, traveled to Ruston, La., the weekend of June 1 and moved up an age group to compete in the 11U AA North Louisiana State Championship hosted by 2D.

The team, based at The Sandlot facility in Vicksburg, won four of their five games on the weekend to win the championship. The team scored 40 runs and allowed 21 in the five games. Brentley Ashley was named the tournament’s MVP.

The team will next travel to Gulfport to compete in the USSSA 10U World Series beginning June 19.

Team members are Eli Frazier, Blake Muirhead, Greyson O’Briant, Fin Reeves, Laken Trim, Oakley Flowers, Cain Conner, Hayden Miller, Brently Ashley, Ayden Bell and Bentley Brown. The Legends are coached by Cole Trim and Roosevelt Brown.
