Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace on Monday afternoon confirmed reports of a body discovered Sunday on Freetown Road outside of Vicksburg.

Pace said that while a cause of death has not yet been determined, the body of a 31-year-old male was discovered in the driveway of a home in the 7500 block of Freetown Road.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey confirmed the deceased to be 31-year-old Travis Davis of Warren County.

“Just before 6 a.m. Sunday, Vicksburg 911 dispatched Vicksburg Fire Department medics, county fire medical personnel and the sheriff’s office to a medical call,” Pace said. “The caller stated that there was an acquaintance of his lying in his driveway. Units arrived on the scene and found a 31-year-old male deceased.”

Pace said the Warren County Coroner’s office determined there were no “immediate indications of what may have caused his death.” He said the body was removed by the coroner’s office and sent for an autopsy at the state medical examiner’s office.

“Acquaintances interviewed at the scene indicated that the last time they saw him, or talked to him, was several hours before that in the early morning hours of Sunday,” Pace said. “We are awaiting the results of his autopsy that will show his manner of death.”
